Little Rock 2020


The Arkansas Chapter is pleased to announce the 2020 Southern Division-American Fisheries Society meeting will be held February 20-23, 2020 at the Little Rock Marriott-Downtown.

Join over 500 fisheries professionals from the southeastern US and the Caribbean for four days of workshops, presentations, networking events, and fun.  We are also pleased to announce the Third International Catfish Symposium (Catfish 2020), February 18-20, will overlap our annual meeting for two days at the same venue. We will be offering a reduced registration to anyone interested in attending both meetings.

For parking at the meeting, there are several options:
1) There is free outdoor parking, which is the least secure option, located along Ottenheimer Plaza between the hotel/river market and the Arkansas River. This lot is accessed by turning off of President Clinton Avenue at S Rock Street/Ottenheimer Plaza.

2) There is a parking garage located at 201 Main Street, and is called “Statehouse Convention Center Parking” on Google Maps. Normal rates there are $12 per day, but if you bring your ticket to registration and get it stamped, the price is reduced to $6 per day.

3) There is parking available in the hotel garage, or by valet, for $25 per day. This is the most secure parking of the options.

Symposium submissions are completed. We have a suite of interesting symposium lined up for the 2020 SDAFS Meeting. The list of symposia can be found at . If you have been invited to present in a symposium, you must submit an abstract through the abstract submission procedure. You will be given the opportunity to identify the symposium to which you have been invited during the submission process. If you were not invited, but feel your abstract is appropriate for one of the symposia, you may contact the symposium organizer directly or contact Jonathan Spurgeon ([email protected]). Abstract submissions are still being accepted for oral and poster presentations for the 2020 Southern Division of the American Fisheries Society held February 20-23 in Little Rock, Arkansas. The final abstract submission deadline is December 20. If you have been invited to present in a symposium, or feel your presentation fits best in one of the symposia, you will be given the opportunity to identify a specific symposium during the submission process. Likewise, if you are submitting an abstract for the “Student Best Paper and Best Poster” competition, you will be given the opportunity to submit to that competition during the submission process. We welcome abstract submissions on any subject of interest to fisheries and aquatic resources managers and professionals.
